Skin Tags / seborrhoeic warts removal

Skin tags removal

Skin tags are harmless, benign growths that can be safely removed for cosmetic reasons or to stop irritation from clothing.

Procedures like cryotherapy (freezing), excision (cutting), or electrosurgery (burning) can be used. We use excision for larger skin tags, or electrosurgery for smaller tags.

All procedure are done under local analgesia and essentially painless.

Seborrhoeic Keratosis removal

Seborrheic keratosis (SK) is a common, harmless, non-cancerous skin growth that can easily be removed for cosmetic reasons or to stop irritation from clothing

Removal Method we use:

  • Curettage or Shave Excision: The area is numbed, and the doctor delicately shaves or scrapes the elevated lesion off the skin. This method is excellent if the growth for larger lesions and when a sample needs to be sent for a lab examination. Bleeding points are then burned with diathermy.
  • Electrosurgery: can be used for smaller lesions –  a superficial growth is carefully burned off the skin surface leaving a small crust.

Potential Side Effects:

Because the superficial layers of skin are being disrupted, removal procedures can carry minor risks like temporary redness, mild scarring, or changes in skin pigmentation (hypo- or hyperpigmentation).
